OUR MISSION
No One Navigates
This Journey Alone
We partner with amputees and individuals with limb difference in our community, empowering them through peer support, adaptive activities, and a network of people who truly understand.
Founded by Paula Free in 2016, Power On With Limb Loss is dedicated to improving the lives of amputees in Oregon and beyond through community support and adaptive outdoor activities that build strength and resilience.
Community Matters
All of life’s challenges and gifts are shaped by who is in our circle of support. Our healthcare providers and family are crucial — but you cannot underestimate the value of talking with someone who has been where you are.
That’s why every program at Power On With Limb Loss is built around one idea: that lived experience is the most powerful support system there is.
WHAT GUIDES US
Our Core Values
01
Lived Experience First
There’s no substitute for someone who truly understands. Our peer visitors and leaders have walked this path themselves.
02
Community Over Isolation
Healing happens in connection. We create spaces where shared experience becomes shared strength.
03
Action Builds Resilience
We believe in moving forward — literally. Physical challenges reveal mental and emotional capabilities you never knew you had.
04
100% Peer-Led
Every program, every event, every conversation is powered by people who get it — because they’ve lived it.
