SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS
Community That Understands
Monthly gatherings where you can share, listen, and connect with others who truly understand your journey. No agenda — just community.
Come See What We're All About
We have multiple amputee support group meetings in Oregon. Our support group meetings are relaxed, welcoming spaces where amputees, individuals with limb difference, and their families come together. There’s no pressure, no formal agenda — just people who understand what you’re going through.
Whether you’re newly navigating limb loss or have been on this journey for years, you’ll find a community here that gets it. Share your experiences, ask questions, learn from others, or simply listen. Everyone’s journey is different, and every voice matters.
Today, Paula has run over 30 5K races, completed the Eugene Half Marathon into Hayward Field, and led teams of 25+ amputees through events like the Dirty Dash mud run. She is a double-certified peer visitor for AMPower and the Amputee Coalition, and a certified peer visitor trainer.
"Walking through that door for the first time can feel scary. But once you're inside, you'll realize you've found your people."

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked
Do I need to RSVP or can I just show up?
You’re welcome to just show up — no RSVP required! However, if it’s your first time, letting us know ahead of time helps us make sure someone is there to welcome you and answer any questions. Feel free to call or text Paula beforehand.
Can family members or caregivers attend?
Absolutely! Family members, caregivers, and loved ones are always welcome. Limb loss affects the whole family, and we believe support should be available to everyone navigating this journey together.
What if I'm not comfortable sharing?
That’s completely okay. There’s no pressure to share anything. Many people attend several meetings before they feel ready to speak — and some prefer to just listen. You’ll get value from the meeting either way.
Is there a cost to attend?
No, our support group meetings are completely free. Power On With Limb Loss is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we believe cost should never be a barrier to finding community and support.
How long have most people been amputees?
Our meetings include people at all stages — from those facing upcoming amputations to people who’ve been amputees for decades. This mix is actually one of the most valuable aspects: newer amputees learn from those with more experience, while long-time amputees find renewed purpose in helping others.
First Time? We've Got You
We know that walking into a room full of strangers can be intimidating — especially when you’re navigating something as personal as limb loss. That’s why we make it easy for first-timers.
- Meet Paula beforehand — call or text to set up a one-on-one conversation first
- Bring someone with you — family, friends, and caregivers are always welcome
- Just listen — there's no pressure to share until you're ready
- Try virtual first — join via Zoom if that feels more comfortable initially
