Programs Built for the
Amputee Community

Every program at Power On With Limb Loss is designed around one idea: that lived experience is the most powerful support system there is.

You cannot underestimate the value of talking with someone who has been where you are. Our healthcare providers and family are crucial — but there’s something uniquely powerful about connecting with someone who truly understands your journey firsthand.

Peer Visitors & Trainers

Peer Visitor Program

Get matched with a certified peer visitor — an amputee who has walked this road and wants to help you navigate yours. Visits are one-on-one, confidential, and scheduled around your needs.

We are Amputee Coalition and AMPower Certified visitors and Peer Visitor Trainers. Our peer visitors can consult with pre-amputees, amputees, and their families at hospitals or clinics — providing support and camaraderie from someone who has first-hand knowledge of what it’s like.

Today, Paula has run over 30 5K races, completed the Eugene Half Marathon into Hayward Field, and led teams of 25+ amputees through events like the Dirty Dash mud run. She is a double-certified peer visitor for AMPower and the Amputee Coalition, and a certified peer visitor trainer.

Keep Moving

Activity is Medicine

Adaptive Activities

The advice we give to people every day is simple: keep moving. Through trying and overcoming physical challenges, we gain new awareness of our mental and physical abilities and grow our potential.

From daily activities like walking or gardening to scheduled events like mud runs, surf trips, adaptive skiing, rock climbing, and kayaking — every activity helps further our progress and maintain a positive outlook. We believe activity is medicine.

A peer visitor challenged me to do any and everything I had done before losing my foot. I wanted every amputee to have that same experience.
