Resources & Connections
Two amputees in conversation at the 2019 Discover Conference
One of the benefits to being at the largest gathering of amputees in our state is the opportunity to meet people who experience the same challenges as you do. In addition to talking with prosthetists and medical professionals from several leading companies in the state, you’ll also get a chance to meet peers who know what you’ve gone through and may be able to offer suggestions or solutions to an issue that you’re facing.

Paula Free, Executive Director of POWLL
Following an accident on a motorcycle, I chose to have my foot amputated. The fear and anxiety about losing my foot was relieved by a peer visitor who challenged me to do any and everything, that I had done before I lost my foot. As a result, I founded Power On With Limb Loss so that every amputee could have the experience of having a peer visitor to talk to, ask questions of, and be empowered by.
