Prosthetics
Prosthetic Clinics in Oregon
Choosing a prosthetist is one of the biggest decisions after limb loss. Here are Oregon's prosthetic clinics by region, and what to look for.
Talk With a Peer Visitor →Choosing a Prosthetist
You'll see your prosthetist a lot, often for years, so the relationship matters as much as the technology. The Amputee Coalition's advice is simple: "choose someone you trust and with whom you feel comfortable."
- Ask your care team (surgeon, physical therapist, case manager) who they work with.
- Check your insurance before your first visit, so you know which clinics are in your network.
- Bring questions. The Amputee Coalition's free guide, Patient and Prosthetist, has a good list.
- Talk to someone who's been there. Our peer visitors can tell you what to ask and what to expect.
