Adaptive Skiing & Snowboarding with Oregon Adaptive Sports!

In winter 2022 we had the good fortune of taking 3 Adaptive ski trips to Hoodoo Ski Resort with Oregon Adaptive Sports. It was a wonderful time, and a blessing because it was one of the few activities we could safely do as a group during the pandemic. We cannot say enough nice things about the staff and volunteers from OAS! They are well-trained, wonderfully positive, and make every run a great experience! We have continued this tradition for 3 years running!

Discover Conference

Our annual Discover Your Potential With Limb Loss and Physical Challenges Conference is our largest event of the year. Our 2019 conference had approximately 80 attendees and 22 vendors ranging from amputees to prosthetists and physical therapists to family caregivers. In light of the Coronavirus Outbreak we’ve had to postpone this years conference for spring of 2022 but we can’t wait to be back together again! In addition to vendors we also have motivational and guest speakers and performers as well as a slew of activities. Previous years include knocker balls bo yoga, obstacle courses, rock wall climbing, archery target practice pickle ball and adaptive karate!

Horners Bow Shoot

We’ve done several events with Horner’s Bow Shoot 3D Archery Range in Lebanon. Archery is fun and easily adaptable to multiple bodies and abilities. We would like to extend our gratitude to Debbie and Lonnie Horner for sponsoring our July 2020 fundraiser and to Rod Free for making all of the arrangements!

Surfing with AmpSurf

California based AmpSurf makes a few trips to the Oregon Coast each year. They provide the necessary gear and meals for a fun packed day trip to the beach! We’re grateful for all that they do improve the lives of amputees through outdoor adventures!

A look back at Bike Day at the Hilyard Community Center!

On September 4th, 2020 The Eugene Rec Staff hosted an Adaptive Bike Day for POWLL at the Hilyard Community Center! They have a large selection of adaptive bikes that you can be customer fitted to your body! Currently, you can rent the bikes for an afternoon or even take one home for the weekend!

Our event took place just prior to the Virtual Eugene Parade and so our video was able to be included in the digital parade event!

A huge “thanks!” to all of the staff at the Hilyard Center!!!
